Joan Lamburn

British author. She appears to have written just 3 books, all of which feature animals. Her most popular work was a feline themed story called Mr. Soloski's Cats, another tale was about monkeys, the third a pony story. The Mushroom Pony is a quirky story for younger readers and is quite rare.

Unfortunately I know nothing about the author herself and cannot find any information about her. If anyone could help in this regard I would love to hear from you,

THE MUSHROOM PONY: THE STORY OF CLIPPETY CLOP
(NOEL CARRINGTON 1947)
ILLUSTRATED BY PHYLLIS GINGER
EDITION PICTURED: 1st edition.
Very rare
SUMMARY: Younger reader's fantasy pony story. Very quirky tale about a mare who eats a magic mushroom and gives birth to a foal with winged feet.  Does not sound very politically correct to the modern reader but this was written before the term 'magic mushroom' took on a whole new meaning!

Collector's info:
A rare book, especially with dustwrapper. Price howvever can vary a lot. Very hard to find outside of the UK.
